THIS IS A COMBINATION AIR CONDITIONING, ALTERNATOR & POWER STEERING BRACKET SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR WHEN PUTTING A 1962-84
153 194 215 230 OR 250 GM INLINE ENGINE INTO A 1948 OR OLDER CHEVY CAR, OR A 1955 FIRST SERIES OR OLDER GM TRUCK.
IF THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU ARE INSTALLING YOUR ENGINE INTO, THEN PLEASE SEE 10008 OR 10060 INSTEAD.

BRACKETS ARE TIG WELDED PLAIN STEEL AND COME READY TO PAINT. JUST WIPE DOWN WITH SOLVENT AND PAINT.

INCLUDES HARDWARE AND INSTRUCTIONS.

HAS ADJUSTMENT AVAILABLE FRONT TO BACK TO HANDLE DIFFERENT BELTING COMBINATIONS.

DOES NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE BRACKETS, HARDWARE & INSTRUCTIONS.

2) GM 10SI STYLE ALTERNATOR.
3) GM SAGINAW TYPE 1 POWER STEERING PUMP. SEE NOTES.
4) 2 GROOVE PULLEY ON POWER STEERING PUMP.
5) NON-INTEGRAL CYLINDER HEAD.
6) CAST IRON THERMOSTAT HOUSING.
7) STRAIGHT UP OR ADJUSTABLE SIDE CONNECTION WATER NECK (FROM SBC).
8) SANDEN 508 (SD5) STYLE AC COMPRESSOR. OTHERS MAY WORK. COMPARE CASE DIMENSIONS.
9) AT LEAST 2 GROOVES ON THE WATER PUMP AND BALANCER.

WHAT THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH:

1) NOT FOR 292 ENGINES USING 292 STYLE WATER PUMPS. SEE 10038 OR 10039 INSTEAD (DEPENDING ON WATER PUMP TYPE).
2) DOES NOT WORK WITH INTEGRAL CYLINDER HEAD.
3) DOES NOT WORK WITH ALUMINUM THERMOSTAT HOUSING. PLEASE SEE 10039 INSTEAD.
3) NOT INTENDED FOR VEHICLES THAT ORIGINALLY HAD THESE ENGINES IN THEM DUE TO THE UPPER RADIATOR
HOSE ROUTING AND HOW HIGH THE ALTERNATOR SITS MAY INTERFERE WITH HOOD CLEARANCES ON NEWER CARS.

NOTES OF INTEREST: 

1) CAN BE USED ON A 292 THAT IS USING A WATER PUMP & IRON THERMOSTAT HOUSING FROM A 153-250.
2) WORKS WITH ALL STOCK & AFTERMARKET EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND HEADERS.
3) WORKS WITH ALL INTAKES EXCEPT 3X1.
4) PS PUMP NEEDS A STUD NEXT TO THE PRESSURE HOSE CONNECTION AS SHOWN. DO NOT USE A STUD AT ANY OTHER LOCATION.
KEYED SHAFT PUMPS ARE RECOMMENDED. 1969 TRUCK 6CYL PUMP WORKS WELL FOR REFERENCE.
SHAPE OF RESERVOIR ISN’T RELEVANT. BOTH “MILK JUG” AND “A-FRAME” STYLES WORK FINE.
5) IF USING ADAPTED 235 VALVE COVER THEN SEE 10039 INSTEAD.
6) ALUMINUM THERMOSTAT HOUSINGS CAN BE USED IF THICKER FLANGE IS MACHINED DOWN.
