ON YOUR 1937-54 VINTAGE 216 23 OR 261 CHEVY ENGINE (AND 1955 FIRST SERIES TRUCK 235/261).
BRACKETS COME WITH HARDWARE & INSTRUCTIONS.
BRACKETS ARE PLAIN STEEL AND ARE READY TO PAINT. JUST WIPE DOWN WITH SOLVENT & PAINT.
IF YOU NEED MORE THAN JUST THE BRACKETS, THEN PLEASE SEE 10044 INSTEAD.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) 1937-54 VINTAGE ENGINE (ALSO 1955 1ST SERIES TRUCK).
2) 10SI CASED ALTERNATOR.
3) SAGINAW TYPE 1 POWER STEERING PUMP. SEE NOTES.
4) SANDEN 508 (SD5) STYLE COMPRESSOR. OTHERS MAY WORK. COMPARE CASE DIMENSIONS.
5) WATER PUMP & BALANCER WITH 3/8″ BELT GROOVE
6) 2 GROOVE BALANCER.
7) 2 GROOVE POWER STEERING PULLEY.
NOT FOR USE WITH:
1) LATER 235/261 ENGINES. PLEASE SEE 10023 INSTEAD.
2) 5/8″ BELT GROOVE PULLEYS.
3) 3X1 INTAKES.
NOTES OF INTEREST:
1) WORKS WITH ANY EXHAUST MANIFOLD OR HEADERS.
2) WORKS WITH ALL INTAKES EXCEPT 3X1.
3) PS PUMP NEEDS A STUD NEXT TO THE PRESSURE HOSE CONNECTION AS SHOWN. DO NOT USE A STUD AT ANY OTHER LOCATION.
STUDS ARE REMOVABLE!! KEYED SHAFT PUMPS ARE RECOMMENDED. 1969 TRUCK 6 CYL PUMP WORKS WELL FOR REFERENCE.
SHAPE OF RESERVOIR ISN’T RELEVANT. BOTH “MILK JUG” AND “A-FRAME” STYLES WORK FINE.
4) FOR 1937-40 WATER PUMPS, YOU CAN USE A 3/8″ PULLEY FROM A 1954 PUMP.
5) ON 1941-54 ENGINES, USE A 3/8″ WATER PUMP FROM A 1954 CAR.
